  1. Two popular Long Island villages will host a ball-drop New Years Street Celebration. The Villages of Patchogue and Farmingdale are getting ready to give the community a special celebration to kick of 2022. Main Street in Patchogue will have DJ Charlie Lombardo to fire up beats and turn the soiree into a street dance party. Farmingdale will make sure that Fire pits will be in place to keep attendees warm. Both events will start at 7 p.m. and will have vendors. (Newsday)
  2. The Greater Patchogue Historical Society Museum is located in the second floor of the Patchogue-Medford Carnegie Library. Formed in 1982, the GPHS Museum opened in the library in 2017. The space houses just a fraction of the historical items the GPHS has inherited over the years and displays village's photos and a special back in time showing Patchogue history. (LI Advance)
  3. Police is offering a cash reward to find the woman who stole packages off a front porch in Stony Brook. Detectives released a picture of the porch pirate. Police said the woman stole boxes from a home on Stony Brook Road Sunday night around 8 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact police. (News 12 Westchester)
  4. Two people were stabbed on Thursday at a residence in Deer Park. One of the victims died and the surviving victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. Police didn't confirm if any suspect is in custody and the crime is under investigation. (Newsday)
