- Angels of Long Island, a nonprofit organization, hosted an event called 'Christmas Miracles' on Main Street in Patchogue last Sunday. Volunteers led by Debbie Loesch, distributed free gifts for 150 families. They said all donations were given by local businesses. (News 12 Bronx)
- Protests against mask mandate grows all over Long Island. Gov. Kathy Hochul's mandate requires businesses that don't ask for proof of vaccination to wear masks indoors. A fine up to $1,000 will apply per violation. One of the protests took place outside a New York State Office Building in Hauppauge where health care workers protested against the new measures. - For the second year, Patchogue Chamber of Commerce is promoting “Elf’n Around Patchogue,” an event that gives great deals to shoppers on Main Street wherever the elves are found. The idea aims to support small businesses, getting the community to shop locally. (Long Island Advance)
- Shannon Gibbons, an American Idol participant, is one of the singers in the Gateway's "Holiday Spectacular on Ice," at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts from Dec. 17-Jan. 1. Gibbons is performing along Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan and 28 other cast members. (Long Island Advance)
