  1. Findings of an investigation into the Utah traffic stop involving Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie could be released from early to the middle of next week. Police Chief Braydon Palmer said that officials received the report back from the agency that conducted an investigation into the stop, and they are in the process of reviewing it. Hopefully, it will be early to middle of next week for reports will be available for release. (Patchogue Patch)
  2. Village of Patchogue receives sewer funds to help the environment. In 2011, Patchogue Village conducted a wastewater expansion to advance the economic growth on Main Street. Last week, it was announced that $7.7 million from a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Water Quality Improvement grant would be awarded to Patchogue Village, enabling a capacity increase to 1.2 million gallons per day. This expansion is totally about the environment. If communities can protect the environment, the economy of that region will grow. (LI Advance)
  3. A filmmaker from East Patchogue, Campbell Dalglish, has won awards for his documentary, “Savage Land.” Dalglish chronicled a reconstruction of events leading up to the tragic shooting of 18-year-old Mah-hi-vist, who was a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes of Clinton, Oklahoma. The documentary shows actual footage and audio. Mah was killed in his parents' kitchen by sheriff’s deputies in 2013. (LI Advance)
  4. Girl Scouts of Suffolk County employees are suing the company over allegations they were wrongfully fired. Five former employees said they were fired because they exposed non-ethical behavior committed by their boss. They said the CEO threatened them by saying the company would slash their salaries and titles. Girl Scout Council of Suffolk County said that the organization will not comment on pending litigation.
