- New York State recently approved millions in regional economic development grants. The money will go towards supporting Local South Shore spots. Regional economic development grants meant to stimulate regional economy. The largest local amount is a $1,000,000 grant for Suffolk County for the Mastic Beach Violets Cove restoration planning. - Patchogue resident, Joshua Block, attracts millions on Tik Tok. A few times a months he goes to NYC to wonder around Manhattan and broadcast himself in videos singing, dancing and exploring the city. The 20-year-old said he didn't know his posts would be such a thing among users. Block has 2.2 million followers. (TBRNews)
- Suffolk County Police Department released an arrest repost on Dec. 31. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate a conviction. Click on the link to access Suffolk arrest report in details. (Patch)
- A great amount of workers across Long Island saw a bump in their pay check this week.
Minimum wage in Nassau and Suffolk will increase to $15 an hour for all workers. It is the final increase under a multi-year plan that saw minimum wage in the city climb to $15 an hour in 2018. North of Westchester, minimum wage will increase to $13.20. (News12)
