  1. The Village of Patchogue recently proposed a camera update plan at Theatre for the Performing Arts. The village has about 104 cameras views, according to Business Improvement director Dennis Smith. With the help of the village fronting the costs, 24 camera views will be added in providing views from the inside of the theatre and parking lot. The aim is to protect community residents and visitors safety. (Long Island Advance)
  2. Looking forward to celebrate the New year ahead? Patchogue Village got you covered! Midnight on Main will start at 7 p.m., and will feature a ball drop and fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. The New Year’s celebration is safe for families since it is alcohol-free. There will also be a DJ and vendors selling warm beverages. (LIAdvance)
  3. Police is asking the public's help to identify and locate a woman accused of stealing packages from porch in Stony Brook. on Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. cameras caught when an unknow woman stole packages and then fled on Stony Brook Road. Anyone with information about this incident can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. (TBRNews)
  4. Greater Sayville Civic Association and large swaths of the community participated in the third annual Light the Night by placing luminaries outside of their homes on Friday, Dec. 17. Christine Sarni, president of Sayville Civic Association, spoke about the meaning of Light the Night at the local library. Compared to last year, GCSA sold double the number of Luminaries. The profits goes towards two scholarships, needy families among others. (suffolkcountynews.net)
