PATCHOGUE, NY — Patchogue Village's popular summer street fair Alive After Five is another Long Island tradition that will look different in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. But the organizers of the event hope to keep some of the spirit of Alive After Five with a virtual "Live After Five," at least until the in-person gatherings can safely come back.

"Live After Five" will be an online event, possibly hosted by Jacqueline Routh, chairperson for the festival and David Kennedy, Patchogue chamber president, Routh told the Greater Patchogue news site.

The event will have live music streaming online, and to-go bar crawls. The event would be sponsored by Blue Point Brewery and Better Man Distillery, which has been hosting virtual bar crawls with Patchogue restaurants since the coronavirus shutdown.

The virtual event will take place on June 25 and if it proves popular, may continue through the summer.
