Pedestrian Injured In North Bellport Hit-And-Run; Driver Arrested: Cops
The driver was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, Suffolk police said.
NORTH BELLPORT, NY — A 22-year-old Bellport man was behind the wheel of a sedan that struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.
The pedestrian was struck by a 2020 Infiniti at the intersection of Bourdois and Brookhaven avenues in North Bellport at around 8:45 p.m., according to police. The person’s injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.
The 22-year-old was arrested on Sunday night at the 5th Precinct in Patchogue by officers from the Crime Section and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor, according to police.
