Police Brief: Man Charged With Assaulting Victim With Pipe In Patchogue

Victim was treated at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for fractured thumb, says police.

A Medford man faces an assault charge for allegedly striking a male victim with a pipe on his hand in Patchogue, says Suffolk County Police.

According to police, a victim was struck with a pipe on his hand on June 26 at 11:25 p.m. on East Main Street in Patchogue. The victim was treated at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for a fractured thumb. 

Police say that George Conserva of Medford was arrested on June 27, and was charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon.

A charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
