Report: Patchogue Doctor Accused In Prescription Scheme
Police say doctor allegedly wrote prescription and paid patient to bring drugs back, says News 12 report.

A Patchogue doctor faces accusations of writing prescriptions to a patient that he allegedly had the patient give back for his own drug habit, according to Suffolk County Police in a News 12 report.
Dr. Hitesh Narain, an OB-GYN, plead not guilty at his Friday arraignment to a charge of conspiracy in the fourth degree. According to prosecutors cited in the report, Narain wrote a prescription to a patient for 180 Oxycodone pills and paid the patient $500 to fill it and return the pills to him.
Narain's attorney told News 12 that he expects the charges to be dismissed, and that Narain has never had a single lawsuit nor complaint in the last 20 years of practicing medicine.
A video in the report speaks to to three people claiming to be his patients, two of which are surprised about the allegations and one who is not.
Narain was released on his own recognizance and is expected back in court on Aug. 19, says the report.
