'Sundays In The Street' In Patchogue Will Continue Through Fall
The street closing event has been a boon to businesses, Patchogue Chamber says.

PATCHOGUE, NY— Although the coronavirus pandemic shut down favorite Patchogue Village summer event Live After Five, the new weekly "Sundays in the Street" has been popular with diners and restaurants. Every Sunday Main Street in the village is shut down, allowing restaurants to place tables outdoors in the street and expand their capacity amid pandemic dining regulations.
David Kennedy is the director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and he tells Patch that the Sunday event is going so well they plan to continue them as long as the weather allows, hopefully into October.
"Both the restaurants and the public have been very positive. Restaurants owners have told me it's been a welcome help, keeping them open."
