Trio Nabbed In Robbery Spree Across Brookhaven Town: Police

The two men would go inside businesses and rob them, while the woman operated the getaway vehicle, Suffolk police said.

MIDDLE ISLAND, NY — A trio of people has been arrested for a string of robberies — two of them armed — at strip malls and a gas station across Brookhaven Town, Suffolk police said.

Disney Frego, 27, and Wiliam Sagan, 29, both with no last known address, and Rachel Falzone, 25, of Medford were arrested Friday for "multiple incidents," according to a police spokeswoman.

Frego and Sagan went inside a business located in a strip mall on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and displayed a knife before taking cash from the register and splitting in a vehicle being driven by Falzone on Nov. 5 at around 5:36 p.m., police said.

Then on Nov. 26 at around 9:30 p.m., Frego and Sagan went inside of another business inside of a strip mall on Old Town Road in Port Jefferson Station and stole assorted merchandise before also fleeing in a vehicle driven by Falzone, according to police.

A short time later, at 10:29 p.m., Frego and Sagan went inside Mobil Mart on Route 112 in Coram, displayed a knife, stole money from the cash register, and fled again in a vehicle driven by Falzone, police said.

Frego and Sagan were arrested on Artist Lake Drive in Middle Island, and Falzone at her home, according to police.

Each was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of second-degree robbery.

Frego was additionally charged with escaping police custody for getting out of a police vehicle after being placed under arrest.

Sagan was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having cocaine when arrested and criminal possession of stolen property for having a 2015 Ford Explorer that had been reported stolen on Nov. 26.

It was not immediately clear if the Explorer was used in the robberies.

Frego and Sagan's bail was set at $50,000, $100,000 insured bond, or $25o,000 partially secured bond, court documents show.

Falzone's bail was set at $25,000 or $50,000 insured bond, or $100,000 partially secured surety bond, according to court documents.

Temporary orders of protection were issued against all three, the documents show.

All three are being held in custody at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, a spokeswoman said.
