The following is from the On Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 1:00 PM, the American Legion, Post No. 274, of Peekskill will host a community meeting bringing individuals of all aspects of our community to discuss a program designed to
welcome home service members who are severely injured. In creating a positive transition home, “Heroes to Hometowns” inspires community pride and
establishes a support network for service members and their families so they can live productive lives.
“Heroes to Hometowns” is a community based program and we are requesting that you and other members of the community come to the meeting on March 3, 2012, at 1:00 PM at our building at 936 McKinley St., Peekskill, NY, and help us with this program to just say thank you to those who have given so much for us.
We need the input of our business community, our religious community, as well as service and government groups to make “Heroes to Hometowns” the success in our area we know it can be. Many “Heroes to Hometowns” programs are working across the country providing our veterans the welcome they deserve.
If you or your group will attend, please contact either the Post at 914-788-5697 or John Donohue at donohueno1@gmail.com.
