On Thursday, November 17 at 11 a.m. Hudson Valley Hospital Center (HVHC) will unveil its new $12 million Comprehensive Cancer Care Center, the crowning achievement on extensive renovations at the Hospital over the past five years. Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Care Center will bring a new and unique way of treating cancer to the Hudson Valley. It will locate all services in one building, bringing together infusion and radiation services, a women’s health imaging center, as well as an experienced team of doctors and medical professionals who will work together to treat the patient as a whole person. The center will also be the only facility in the region to offer a new, cutting-edge radiation therapy called tomotherapy, which can more precisely target cancer, sparing healthy tissue.
On the same day, the Hospital will celebrate the 36th Annual Great American Smokeout by going tobacco-free as well as open the doors to its newly remodeled Wellness Club, which has relocated from the Cortlandt Town Center to the Hospital campus.
