Seven student musicians from Lakeland and Walter Panas high schools were selected for the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Area All-State Band/Orchestra this year.
From the selected students are:
Victoria Garcia, 11th grade, violin; Mihir Paradkar, 10th grade, viola; Rachel Tsao, 12th grade, violin; Elias Chess, 12th grade, string bass; Casey Kearney, 11th grade, oboe
Casey has also been chosen to perform in Rochester, N.Y. at the NYSSMA All-State Conference in December.
From the selected students are:
Virginia Croft, 11th grade, violin; Emma Haviland-Blunk, 10th grade, cello.

The concert was held earlier this year at the SUNY Purchase large concert hall - Theater A. Approximately 215 students from throughout Westchester County were honored with this opportunity to perform at the highest level of musical proficiency. More than 1,000 talented students auditioned for Area All State last spring.
