From the Peekskill Police Department, Nov. 14: City of Peekskill Police are seeking help from the public as they continue their investigation into a purse snatching that occurred late last week.
The victim, a 53 year old woman, was approached from behind and accosted as she walked on Hudson Ave., just east of Washington St. on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8:45 p.m.. The suspect, only described as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, snatched the woman’s purse from her shoulder and fled on foot, north on Washington St.
Detectives believe that at least one individual witnessed the incident and may have information that would aid in their investigation. The purse was recovered shortly after the incident; however some of its contents were missing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the City of Peekskill Police Department at (914) 737-8000.
