Blotter: Drunk Driver; Walmart Thief Found with Hypodermic Needle

Walmart Thief Found with Hypodermic Needle

A Peekskill man was arrested on Dec. 10 after stealing from Walmart. New York State Troopers at Cortlandt arrested James E. Simmons, 47, of Peekskill for petty larceny and possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Simmons was observed by Walmart Loss Prevention personnel leaving the store in the Cortlandt Town Center without paying for $38 worth of merchandise.  Responding troopers also found that Simmons was unlawfully in possession of a hypodermic needle at the time of his arrest. 

Simmons was issued an appearance ticket returnable in the Cortlandt Town Court on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m.

Driving Drunk

On Dec. 10, New York State troopers at Cortladnt arrested Jorge A. Zhunio, 33, of Peekskill for driving while intoxicated. Zhunio was arrested for DWI after he was stopped on North Division Street for failing to keep right.  Investigation found that Zhunio was in an intoxicated condition.  A positive breath sample of .15% BAC was obtained. 

Zhunio was issued traffic tickets returnable in the Cortlandt Town Court on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m.
