Burglary Arrest on Loomis Ave; Heroin Arrest

Police: Man Arrested for Loomis Ave. Burglary

A Peekskill man is accused of entering a neighbor’s home during the early morning hours of Aug. 25, police report. Bayron Guevara, 28, of Peekskill allegedly woke up one of the residents who chased him from the home. Guevara was taken into custody the following day on two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court on unrelated charges. He was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, after a follow up investigation was completed by Det. Martinez and he was positively identified by the victim. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.

Heroin Arrest

Peekskill resident Alonzo Thompson, 50, was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on the 900 block of Paulding Street on Aug. 24 at 6:50 p.m. Thompson was charged after officers working anti-crime patrol stopped him for a minor traffic infraction and found him to be in possession of a small quantity of heroin. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
