Verplanck will be hosting its own tree lighting this weekend as well. On Sunday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. head over to the Verplanck Fire Department for the event, which will include a visit from a Santa. Mr. Claus might be a little tired, as he will spend the day Sunday riding the Verplanck fire truck and visiting children. Keep an eye out and let us know where you spot him on our Facebook page. The first to post a photo of Santa to Patch or to our Facebook will win a Patch prize!

Milk and Cookies for Santa’s Helpers at HVHC

Hudson Valley Hospital Center staff will bake chocolate chip and sugar cookies in special ovens right in the main lobby and serve them with icecold milk on Dec. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. It’s all for a good cause: to raise funds for Santa’s Helpers, an HVHC program that buys holiday gifts for needy children.  A holiday sing-a-long will be held from 12-12:30 and all are welcome. Read more about this here.

Shop for your holiday gifts while sharing your expertise in crafting, baking, or horticulture. Make or bake something to bring to this event as an entry fee. Crafts and goodies will then be auctioned off or provided as refreshments during the fundraising event on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at Hendrick Hudson High School.
