Cortlandt Manor Man Arrested for Sexual Abuse of 13-year-old Girl

State police arrested a Cortlandt Manor man for alleged sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl.

The following was provided by the New York State Police. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Nov. 5 the New York State Police at Cortlandt arrested Albert M. Tapia, of Cortlandt Manor following an investigation into allegations of the sexual abuse of a 13 year-old female acquaintance. It was determined that during the month of October, Tapia and the victim had three encounters at his Cortlandt residence where sexual contact occurred between the two.

Tapia was charged with second-degree Sexual Abuse and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both Class "A" Misdemeanors. Tapia was processed and released and is due to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Nov. 7 at 9 a.m.
