Cortlandt Police Blotter: Kohl's Shoplifter, a Rowdy Train Passenger and a Domestic Disturbance

Friday, March 15

3:26 p.m.: Westchester County Police assisted an intoxicated man who had fallen in front of Kohl’s department store on Route 6 and suffered an eye injury. The officer drove the man to Hudson Valley Hospital Center for treatment.

Wednesday, March 13 

2:56 p.m.: A-20-year-old Mohegan Lake woman was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, at the Kohl’s department store on Route 6, after store security allegedly caughter her leaving the store with $116 worth of merchandise she did not pay for. She was booked at county police headquarters in Hawthorne and released pending an April 5 appearance in Cortlandt town court. 

Tuesday, March 12:

6:38 p.m.: Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Mount Airy Road after receiving a 911 hang-up call. The home owner advised that his wife had misdialed while trying to make a phone call. County police remind residents to please stay on the line with the dispatcher if 911 is dialed accidentally.

9:44 p.m.: Metropolitan Transportation Authority personnel requested county police to meet a northbound train traveling to the Cortlandt station due to an intoxicated passenger who was causing a problem on board.  The call was canceled when it was determined that the female passenger left the train at the Croton-Harmon station.

Monday, March 11

12:50 p.m.: A Westchester County Parks Department worker reported to county police that the rear left wheel of a department pickup truck fell off as he was driving on Route 9, near Croton Point Avenue.   County police are investigating whether the lug nuts on the tire were deliberately loosened.

7:23 p.m.: Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Cardinal Road for a report of an argument between a man and a woman.  The woman’s mother, who owns the home, asked police to remove the man from the residence. An officer advised the woman how to seek a Temporary Order of Protection that would bar the man from having any contact with her.
