Cortlandt’s Christopher McGinnis Builds Fan Base, Starts Summer Tour Circuit with Country Rock Pop Tour

The 14-year-old singer/songwriter and musician joined other up and coming artists at the Maryland festival.

Local teen crooner and pianist Christopher McGinnis got a taste of stardom recently when he performed for adoring fans at the Country Rock Pop Tour 2012 in Maryland earlier this month. The Hendrick Hudson High School student enjoyed playing with talented up and coming musicians like himself and building a fan base, and is looking forward to continuing his music career at various festivals and shows in New York City and around the country this summer.

“It was amazing to have people screaming when you walk by them and wanting your autograph so bad,” McGinnis said of his experience at the Country Rock Pop Tour.

McGinnis’ fingers flew over his keyboard while another young performer break danced in front of him, prompting the young tweens in the audience to scream, during the Tour. (View this in the video above).

“All of us were on the same level, just starting to get a fan base. They were all really nice and talented,” McGinnis said of his fellow performers on the Tour.

McGinnis will perform at the Make Music, NY Festival at South Street Seaport on June 21. He will also be hosting and singing at the Youth Arts Forum in New York City on July 20 at The Bitter End in New York City’s West Village; and performing in the Youth Blues Festival on July 21 in Wild Cliff Park in New Rochelle. The Youth Blues Festival raises money for kids with Csystic Fibrosis and a portion of proceeds will go to this charity for the Youth Arts Forum he is  affiliated with.
