Drugged Driver Collides with Mom and Son on Jan Peek Bridge

Driver is said to have been unconscious. No one was seriously injured in the accident.

A 35-year-old Peekskill man was allegedly unconscious when he drove through a steady red light and collided with a vehicle occupied by Peekskill woman and her 13-year-old son on Jan. 15 at 7:40 p.m., according to witnesses interviewed by police. The accident occurred on the Annsville Bridge and the driver, Jason Graham, was found to be incoherent at the scene, and so heavily under the influence of narcotics that he had lost consciousness while driving, police said. The mother and son sustained minor injuries and were transported to the for treatment.

Graham was transported to the Westchester Medical Center and was admitted in serious condition due to his level of intoxication. He was charged with driving while ability impaired, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, all misdemeanors. As of Tuesday afternoon, Graham is still in the hospital and has not yet been booked by the Peekskill police department.

Graham is due in Peekskill City Court on Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. to answer DWAI charges as well as AUO 2nd and Operating with a Suspended Registration after both his license and vehicle registration were found to be suspended.
