1. Election Day

2. Schools Closed, Superintendents Conference Day

Because many schools are used as polling locations, Hen Hud, Peekskill and Lakeland school districts are closed for students for Election Day. Â To find your polling location, read our Elections 2011 guide here.
Schools are also closed this Friday for Veterans Day.

3. Treats While You Vote
If you are voting at Thomas Jefferson or Van Cortlandtville Elementary Schools bring a few dollars to buy a treat from the PTA back sales at those schools. Peekskill High School's Interact Club will also be holding a bake sale at the high school from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
4. Congratulations Local Marathon Runners
Thirteen people from Peekskill-Cortlandt ran in the New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 6. Congratulations for your hard work! To see a list of the runner’s names, click .
5. Sunny and Warm
The National Weather Service reports that today is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 66 and tonight will have a low around 40. Â
