1. Entergy to Shorten Indian Point Ventilation Stack
The Journal News has reported an AP story that Entergy will shorten its old venitaltion stack by about 221 feet this summer. The stack is currently about 255 feet above its building but the height is no longer needed. Read the full story here.

The Peekskill Field Library will kick off itsmonth with a display of rare items drawn from their local history collection and the Colin T. Naylor Jr. Archives. This is an opportunity to view a select group of distinguished maps, documents and unique objects rarely seen by the public. The reception for the display will be on Saturday, May 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.

5. Weekend Weather
The National Weather Service forecasts showers and thunderstorms for today, mostly after 1 p.m. The high should be around 77. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms at night as well, with a low around 59.
On Saturday, there is a 30 percent chance of rain in the morning but will otherwise be mostly cloudy with a high near 70 during the day and 51 at night. Sunday should be mostly sunny with a high near 68.
