[UPDATE] Police: Peekskill Student's Facebook Threat Remains Under Investigation

Update, 12:45 p.m.: An incident involving a Facebook threat that was made by a Peekskill High School student is being reviewed by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, according to Peekskill police Sgt. Raymond Henderlong said. 

"It's still under investigation," Henderlong said. "There was no direct threat to any student's safety. It involved a student communication that was made via Facebook. There was a lockdown, but it was precautionary until we located the student. The school did an excellent job in being proactive and ensuring all of the students were safe."

A district-wide lock-out was put into place at Peekskill schools Tuesday while police investigated a threat that was made by a student on Facebook.

The lock-outwent into effect at about noon Tuesday and lasted for about an hour, according to Laura Belfiore, a spokeswoman for the district.

Belfiore was unable to say what grade level the student is in or the nature of the threat that was made Tuesday night.

It was also unclear what, if any, disciplinary or criminal action was taken Tuesday. Check back for more details as they become available.
