Headstones Vandalized in Montrose, Altercation at ShopRite

Headstones Knocked Over
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5:11 p.m. The caretaker of a cemetery on Sunset Road in Montrose reported that eight headstones were knocked over by vandals. The damage occurred sometime within the previous 24 hours.
Woman With Walker Shoved at ShopRite
On Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. Westchester County Police responded to ShopRite on Route 6 following an altercation between two patrons of the store. A 58-year-old woman from Cortlandt Manor who uses a walker said she was shoved and screamed by another shopper that she had asked to move out of the way at the front entrance.

Harassment
On Nov. 9 at 11:37 a.m. Westchester County Police Officer Rob Kelly arrested Charles Machado, 21, of Harper Ave. Montrose, on charges of Harassment 2nd degree, a misdemeanor, and Criminal Contempt 1st degree, a felony. Machado is charged with violating existing orders of protection by confronting his ex-girlfriend at her job and preventing her from leaving after an argument by blocking a hallway and grabbing her by the arm. Machado was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $7,500.
Suspicious Vehicle
On Nov. 6 at 10 p.m. Westchester County Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of Aberdeen Road in Cortlandt Manor. The driver of the vehicle told police he had pulled on to the dead-end street to make a cell phone call.

Tenants Fight Over Noise
On Nov. 4 at 2:49 p.m. Westchester County Police responded to a complaint of loud music at a residence on Lexington Avenue in Mohegan Lake. The two tenants of the residence have had an ongoing dispute over noise and other issues.
Campaign Signs Trashed
On Nov. 4 at 9:55 p.m. an anonymous caller reported that someone had removed a number of campaign signs supporting Town Justice Daniel McCarthy and thrown them in the trash behind 2 Westbrook Drive. County police located the damaged signs and notified the judge of the incident.
