Hometown to Heroes, Sound of Music, Students Make Dean's List at College

1.     Sound of Music

Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School presents the Sound of Music on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. The performance is at Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the door

2.     Saturday Council Meeting

The Peekskill City Council will meet at 8 a.m. Satruday for a “Discussion of goals for the City of Peekskill” in the Paul Schwerman Conference Room.

3.     Kwan Kung Fu Chinese New Year performance

Peekskill’s Kwan’s Kung Fu Studio will perform The Lion Dance at the Garden Road School at 10:30 a.m. A good omen, 'The Lion Dance' traditionally brings one luck and prosperity to its audience in the year ahead. All are welcome. $7 per child, accompanying adults. The Garden Road School is at 99 Baron de Hirsch Rd., Crompond, NY. RSVP at info@thegardenroad.org or 914-526-4033

5. Hometown to Heroes Meeting

The Peekskill American Legion Post 274 is holding a meeting of many different community groups, local officials and individuals seeking to set up a program known as Hometown to Heroes to assist our returning veterans and welcome them back in to our communities.
