How Many Snow Days Do You Have?

Here are five things you need to know today, Jan. 4.

 1. Hen Hud Snow Days

 Hendrick Hudson, Peekskill and Lakeland school districts used one or two snow days following the Oct. 30 snowstorm. This leaves four snow days for Hen Hud,  If Hen Hud uses more than their allotted five snow days, make up days are April 2, 3 and 4 (spring break).

2. Lakeland Snow Days

Lakeland used two snow days in October, which leaves the district with three left for this season. Should snow closings exceed those days, they would take away vacation days beginning with May 25 (the Friday before Memorial Day.)  After that, the days to be taken away would come from spring recess beginning with Monday, April 9, April 2, April 3 and April 4.

3. Peekskill Snow Days

Peekskill City School District used one snow day in October and has four left. If they exceed their allotted five days, they will make up the time on April 2, 3 and 

4. Lakeland Board of Education Budget Meeting/Work Session

The Board of Education will hold a budget and work session on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Administration Building. The Administration Building is located at 1086 East Main Street in Shrub Oak. The budget meeting is open to the public and discussion is permitted on budget topics.

This is the first of four budget meetings to be held from January through April. The next Board of Education meeting is a business meeting to be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Van Cortlandville Elementary School, 3100 East Main St., Mohegan Lake.

5. Galef and Ball at Chamber Breakfast

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef and state Senator Greg Ball will speak at this Thursday’s Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce business council breakfast. The event is from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Mansion at Colonial Terrace.
