Hudson River HealthCare Celebrates National Health Center Week 2012

Thank you to HRHC for sharing this information.

August 22, 2012; Peekskill, NY – Hudson River HealthCare marked the 2012 National Health Center Week 2012 with a breakfast served to staff by the Executive team and others to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of health centers as local solutions, both throughout the State of New York and nationally.  The celebration was held under the tent in the Garden Gallery adjacent to the Health Center, which is located on Main Street in Peekskill.

Highlights of the celebration included a performance by the Center’s Culture Club youth and a groundbreaking to mark the expansion of services and increased access which was made possible by funding through the Affordable Care Act.

This funding opportunity is historic in that it represents an unprecedented investment by the federal government in community health centers and has the potential to expand New York State’s primary care system as never before, bringing essential services to some of the highest-need areas, enhancing health centers’ ability to serve more patients and creating thousands of jobs across the country.
