Indian Point Sirens Test; School Budgets Approved; VA 2K Walk/Roll

1. Indian Point Sirens Test at 11 a.m.

The nuclear power plant will conduct a test of the emergency sirens tomorrow morning.

The sirens will sound for about four minutes sometime between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

The sirens will be heard in many parts of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties.

3. Sunshine Boys and Girls

Armed Forces Day is coming up on May 19, and in honor of the day of recognition, the Sunshine boys and girls will be placing more than 2,000 flags on the graves of veterans from all wars at Hillside cemetery today and tomorrow.

4. VA 2K Walk and Roll

Employees and patients at the Montrose Veterans Affairs hospital will participate in the VA’s 2k Walk/Roll to benefit homeless veterans today. Read more .

The will host a ladies night clothing swap at on June 11. You can start collecting gently used clothing, accessories, shoes and other items to be swapped and drop them off at the Chamber office during business hours. Read more .
