DSW is Coming to Cortlandt

DSW is moving into the Cortlandt Town Center. What else do you want to see there?

Santa’s gone, but for shoe lovers that is just fine, because DSW is coming to town. People are talking about the familiar black and white awnings that have recently popped up next toBarnes and Noble. Those awnings are what you think they are, the first sign of a DSW on its way to Cortlandt.

The “designer shoe warehouse” offers virtually every kind of footwear imaginable at affordable prices for men, women and children, and would be the only of its kind in the Peekskill-Cortlandt area. They sell everything from the most fashionable designer stilettos to a comfortable walking sneaker. They also sell purses and other accessories.

Cortlandt Town Planner Chris Keyhoe said the planning board approved the DSW plans months ago and, while construction is well underway, they do not know when the store is set to open. Construction is going on daily and the awnings are complete.

Calls to the building's realty company, Acadia Realty, have not yet been returned.

The space to the right of DSW spot remains empty and without a tenant, Kehoe said. There had been rumors about a Gap moving in to that space, but Kehoe said he no longer thinks that is the case. What would you like to see there? Take this poll and tell us.
