It's SWAK for Valentine's Day

If their creative front window display doesn't draw you in, a wish list might do the trick.

If you are going to buy someone special something for Valentine's Day it may as well be SWAK-sealed with a kiss. the Montrose boutique with everything from toddler pjs to teens must-have Sugar Lips tanks, knows how to make a woman happy and make a man's life easier.

The boutique, which opened three years ago this March, provides a popular "wish list" service to its customers. So, as Valentine's Day approaches women put together a list to leave with the manager, or self-proclaimed Chief Operations Officer, Maggie Pinque, and the men know exactly what gift to buy.

"So, you are telling me that no matter what I get on this list she will like it?" Pinque said the men always ask her with a relieved look on their faces.

Pinque and owner Evelyn Hathaway laughed while remembering the gratitude received from men who no longer had to make wild guesses and cross their fingers that they would buy the right gift.

Hathaway, Pinque and Rosie Salas, the second owner, decorate the store in appropriate themes every month. This month it is covered in pink and red, with pink earrings, sweatshirts, dresses, bath oils and a row of pink scarves hung on the check-out counter. The front window, designed by Hathaway who was inspired by a retail blog, features a whimsical Valentine's Day outfit- a sparkly Sugar Lips tank top, a scarf tied as a belt, pink beaded necklace, and the feature of the outfit, a skirt made out of pink paper cones.

Everything except the skirt is for sale for under $50; the skirt is just decoration. The necklaces are $32 and $15, the top is $18 and the scarf is $15.

"You will find almost nothing in this store that is more than $50," Pinque told me as she rung up a little girl's $7 bracelet that she was proudly purchasing with her own money. The little girl was just one of many customers who came in from next door. Within thirty minutes, several moms and daughters had stopped in and bought a top, a necklace or a pair of jeans.

The high quality clothing, low price point for a boutique and wide range of items for sale, It's SWAK has dozens of items that fly off their wracks. Pinque points out that because they are a small boutique and only order a few of each item, customers get to leave knowing they own something that not everyone else will have.

In addition to clothing, It's SWAK sells inspirational and quirky signs with quotes, bath and body products, jewelry (like slap-watches) toddler toys, accessories and more.

And, everything is Sealed With a Kiss!
