Lake Peekskill Man Tries to Steal from Best Buy, Caught with Cocaine
A Lake Peekskill man was arrested for possession of cocaine after he tried to steal from Best Buy in Cortlandt.

The following is from the New York State Police. It does not indicate a conviction.
On Dec. 4 at 7:40 p.m. State Police arrested Thomas E. Maroulis Jr., 39, of Lake Peekskill for possession of cocaine and petty larceny.
The state police officer responded to a call reporting petty larceny from Best Buy in Cortlandt. When he got there, store security said the subject was attmepting to drive away from the scene. The officer stopped him at the intersection of Constriution and East Main Street.

The officer found a bag of white powder believed to be cocaine on the subject and a a small plastic white and red straw with white powder residue in it also believed to be cocaine. Maroulis was then taken back to Best Buy where he was identified as the person who attempted to take merchandise without paying for them. He was charged with petty larceny and Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 7th and is due in Cortlandt Town Court on Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. Â
