Legion Seeks Military Families; Memorial Day Weekend Information

Five things you need to know for Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-28.

4. Three-day Weekend Fun

Check out The Cove this weekend during its three-day Memorial Day weekend BBQ and party. There will be live music, food and drink booths, popcorn machines and more.

The Quiet Man Public House is dedicating their bar, which was constructed from wood from the USS North Carolina at 6 p.m. Monday. Local resident Tim Murphy, a Viet Nam vet who earned both a bronze and a silver star, will be playing music. Murphy also wrote The Firefighter’s Creed, the official song of the National Firefighters Memorials. 

5.  American Legion Looking for Relatives of Those Inscribed on War Memorials

The American Legion Post 274 in Peekskill of those who are inscribed on the war memorial monuments at Monument Park. They are looking for family members to show up at the Memorial Day Services there on May 28 at 10 a.m. and ring the Freedom Bell, which will be brought there by the Lincoln Society.
