Letter to the Editor: Al Donahue Announces Bid for Buchanan Trustee Seat

Former Buchanan Mayor Al Donahue is running in this month's village elections.

Dear Editor,
I am running for the position of Trustee in the Village of Buchanan.  For those of who don’t know me, these are some of my accomplishments:
  • Mayor for six terms with seven years without a tax increase and with no service reductions
  • Trustee for one term
  • Retired New York State Trooper of 29 years and US Army Veteran
  • Life Member of the Buchanan Fire Department, Parishioner of St. Christopher's Church, and Member of Buchanan Senior Citizens Club
  • Married to Carolyn for 53 years, father of five children, grandfather of 21 grandchildren
  • Resident of the Village of Buchanan 48 years
In these ever changing times, each day there are new challenges and issues that need our attention. Because of my experience and knowledge of government affairs, I know that I can be an asset to the Village Residents once again.
During the time that I have not held an elected position, I have had the opportunity to observe and become more aware of the changes that the Village has faced, and I know that I can continue to improve our Village in a positive direction.
I will be a Non-Partisan member of the Village Board and ensure fiscal accountability.  I will be the Voice for the Residents on how your Tax Dollar is being spent. These days everyone is very busy with their daily activities.  With this in mind, I willnot be knocking on your door to introduce myself, but I welcome you to knock on mine.  Being retired, I have time to answer any of your questions or concerns.  Please feel free to contact me.
 Sincerely,
Al Donohue
