Letter to the Editor: In Support of Hen Hud Schools Bond Proposition
Amy Jaeger views the bond as a "gift to the district."

I’m deeply saddened by the animosity I’m hearing towards the Hendrick Hudson School District Bond being voted on December 14th. The BOE and District Administration have worked tirelessly to address the concerns community members have been voicing for many years. This bond resolves many of those concerns. I view this as a gift to the district. We are getting $25m in upgrades at a total cost of $11.7m to the tax payers. Current economic times have afforded us competitive pricing on bids as well as low interest rates. The projects will create jobs, spur our local economy, increase our home values and significantly improve how we feel about our community and how we are viewed by others. We will never again be presented with such an attractive package. I urge those who have not been to a Bond presentation to get educated. The facts are clearly detailed on the district’s website. It would be a huge shame and a waste of an enormous opportunity if this bond is voted down. Â
