Man Arrested for Grand Larceny While in Jail for Attempted Shrimp Hoist

On Jan. 9 Joseph Johnson, 45, of Peekksill was charged with petty larceny, misdemeanor on the 1000 block of Park street by Officer Jon Merritt. Johnson was charged with shoplifting from the on Park St. after attempting to leave the store without paying for a bag of frozen shrimp. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

The same man was charged with fourth degree grand larceny later that day, while in custody for the petty larceny charge. He was charged while at police headquarters for the theft of a debit card from an apartment on Brown Street on Jan. 2, 2012. Johnson is further alleged to have utilized the debit card to withdraw money from the victim’s bank account. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

Stolen Cell Phone

Rajeam Jackson, an 18-year-old Peekskill resident was charged with petty larceny on the 100 block of Hudson Ave. on Jan. 10 at 1:40 a.m. Officer Mary Greenan charged Jackson with the theft of a cell phone that occurred in Oct. 2011 in the vicinity of South and Smith streets. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

 

Felony Charge for Driving with License Suspended 27 Times

Tyrone Carter, 38, of Peekskill was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, on the 100 block of Nelson Ave. on Jan. 4. Carter was stopped for operating a vehicle with a cracked windshield and illegally tinted windows. Further investigation revealed Carter’s driver’s license was suspended a total of 27 times leading to felony charges. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
