3. Veterans Memorial Dedication

The Town of Cortlandt will hold a dedication ceremony for the veterans memorial at Cortlandt Waterfront park at 3 p.m. Read about the idea for the park .

4. Farmer's Market at HVHC

On Tuesday July 31, Hudson Valley Hospital Center kicks off its series of monthly farmer’s markets on the hospital campus through November.  More than a dozen vendors with produce, meats, breads, fruits, jams and pies and gourmet specialty items will be at the market. HVHC will showcase its healthy eating initiatives and display produce from its Organic Garden for Healing. Master Gardeners Volunteers from the Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Westchester will also be on hand to give advice to gardeners.

Markets will also be held from 11 AM to 4 PM on 8/28, 9/25, 10/30, 11/20 in the parking lot fronting on Crompond Road/Route 202, near the Main Entrance to the hospital.  Free parking is available.

5. Chance of Showers and Storms

The National Weather Service forecast reports that today will be a mostly cloudy day with a high near 81 and a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon.
