Oliva to Remain at Hen Hud HS on Administrative Leave This Fall

Tom Oliva will not be teaching English this fall.

A popular English teacher who took a in February, will be working at the Hendrick Hudson School District this fall, but not in the classroom, said the new superintendent of the district Brian Monahan.

Tom Oliva is on administrative leave working in one of the district buildings doing curriculum work, Monahan said.

“I hope the situation is resolved sooner rather than later,” Monahan said. He would not comment on the status of the into the sale of marijuana at the high school, which coincided with Oliva’s leave in February.

All of the English classes are being covered by regular teachers and Paul LaVallee will likely continue to serve as supervisor of the film club, a position that Oliva held until his leave, Monahan said. However, co-curricular assignments are not yet approved by the board.
