Peekskill City School District Budget Gets OK From Voters

Voters also weighed in on filling three board trustee positions.

PEEKSKILL, NY — Peekskill City School District voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to approve a $105.4 million budget for the 2022-23 school year.

The spending package, which represented a budget-to-budget increase of 3.97 percent, was approved 421 to 112, according to unofficial results.

The tax levy increase was projected to be 2 percent, which is below the state-mandated tax cap of 2.08 percent.

Voters were also asked to fill three board positions.

The top-three vote-getters were incumbents Jillion Villon and Michael Simpkins and write-in Eric Rekeda.
