Peekskill Man Attacks Roommate with Hammer
The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries to his head and face.

Man Attacks Roommate with Hammer
On Nov. 19 at 11:50 p.m. Kelly Govan, 51, of Peekskill, was charged with second-degree assault, a Class D Felony and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor on Maplewood Ave. by Officer Matt Basso. Govan was charged after attacking his roommate with a hammer. The victim, sustained injuries to his head and face as a result of the attack and was transported to the Hudson Valley Hospital for treatment. Govan was taken into custody and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.

Jewel Thief Caught
On Nov. 15 at 7:45 p.m. Robert Steele, 31, was charged with three counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, by Det. Todd Gallaher. Steele was charged following an investigation by Det. Gallaher into a report of stolen jewelry. The jewelry had been reported stolen from a residence in late September and a search of area jewelry stores resulted in the recovery of the stolen items. Further investigation lead to Steele’s arrest. Steele was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.

Man Found Drunk, Asleep at the Wheel, Head Butts Officer
On Nov. 15 at 11 p.m. Walter Brito, 47, of Cortlandt Manor, was charged with driving while intoxicated, and second-degree assault, a felony on Reynolds Lane. Officer Woodland found Brito asleep at the wheel of his vehicle while it was stopped in the middle of the roadway on the 900 block of Reynolds Lane. While in Police HQ, Brito head butted the arresting officer causing the officer to receive a laceration to his nose. Brito was additionally charged with second-degree Assault and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
Felony DWI
Francisco Portillo, 31, of Buchanan, was charged with a felony driving while intoxicated on Welcher Ave. on Nov. 15 at 6:15 p.m. Portillo, who was previously convicted of DWI in 2008, was charged with felony DWI after becoming involved in an automobile accident on Welcher Ave. Portillo refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his BAC and was additionally charged with this offense. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
Domestic Assault
On Nov. 20 at 7:10 a.m. Nathaniel Tisdell, 25, of Peekskill, was charged with third-degree assault, misdemeanor at Waterview Estates by Officer John Marchioni. Tisdell, who was wanted for a domestic assault that occurred on Oct. 19, was located attempting to gain entry to an apartment belonging to the victim of said assault. He was taken into custody without incident and held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of the Town of Yorktown for Criminal Mischief.
