Peekskill Man Dies of Heart Attack While in City Pool

A 69-year-old Peekskill man suffered a heart attack while swimming in round 5:50 p.m. Aug. 24, police said. He was transported to the and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The man is believed to have been at the pool by himself. Lifeguards noticed his condition and immediately responded, Lt. Eric Johansen said.

“The lifeguards did a fantastic job and what they were trained to do. Unfortunately his condition was too grave,” Johansen said.

Police did not release the name of the victim.
