Peekskill Police Catch Armed Robbery Suspect

An 18-year-old is accused of threatening victims at knifepoint.

The following was provided by the Peekskill police department. It does not indicate a conviction. 

Peeksill police arrested 18-year-old Peekskill resident Jamil Bristow in connection to two recent armed robberies on Washington Street and Requa Street.

Bristow was arrested following the attempted robbery of an individual on Washington Street on July 28 at 11:30 p.m. The intended victim fled after Bristow allegedly pulled a large knife on him and demanded money, police said. Bristow was observed entering a residence on Dyckman Street, which was surrounded by responding officers who were able to take him into custody without incident.

During the investigation of this robbery, evidence was recovered linking Bristow to another armed robbery that occurred in the same neighborhood several days earlier. During the previous robbery, Bristow stole a pocketbook at knifepoint from a woman as she walked on Requa Street. Bristow was charged with first degree robbery, first degree attempted robbery, felonies, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court where bail was set in the amount of $2,000.00.
