Peekskill Holiday Guide: Tree Lighting, Santa Calls, NYC Trip

The City of Peekskill has a lot of holiday activities for the whole family.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
Join Santa Claus in lighting our Holiday Tree in Downtown Peekskill.   

THE PEEKSKILL COMMUNITY CHOIR will be leading us in holiday carols as we wait for Santa’s arrival. After lighting the tree we will follow Santa to FORD PIANO where Santa will give each child a gift and live Holiday piano music can be enjoyed by all. Individual pictures can be taken with Santa and hot chocolate and cookies, provided by the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, will top off the evening.

HOLIDAY TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY

Saturday, Dec. 10, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Take a trip to New York City, see the festive department store window displays, shop and of course, see the famous tree at Rockefeller Center. A bus will leave Depew Park on Saturday, December 10th at 9 am and leave the City to return home at 5pm. The fee for this trip is $10 per person. You must register in ADVANCE at then Depew Park.

Santa will be making holiday phone calls on the evening of December 16th. If you would like your child to receive a phone call from Santa between the hours of 5pm and 7pm, please fill out the form available at the Recreation Office no later than Monday, December 12th.

Peekskill Pub & Eat Crawl

On Saturday Dec. 17, join a merry band of revelers as they sip and taste their way across the excellent, crowded pubs and diverse restaurants of downtown. 

Christmas Decorating Party

Saturday, December 3, 11 a.m-1p.m. at the Field Library

Make holiday ornaments and help trim the library’s trees. Refreshments and lots of holiday cheer will be offered to children of all ages (with a helping adult). No sign-up required. The event is free.
