Police: Camera Catches Cortlandt Man Stealing $1,800 Worth of Makeup

Peekskill police officers charged Cortladnt Manor resident Steven Strang, 29, with two counts of petty larceny for stealing hundreds of dollars worth of makeup from Walgreens on Main Street, police report.

Walgreens employees were on the look out for Strang after reviewing surveillance tapes from the store and seeing the thefts, which occurred on July 27 and 28, police report. When Strang entered the store on July 31 he fled when confronted by the store manager and police were notified.

Officer Simmons observed Strang a short time later on Main Street and took him into custody. He was charged with both incidents and it is believed the total value of the stolen make-up is approximately $1,800. Strang was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
