Police: Man on PCP Freaks Out in Cop Car; Woman Assaults Boyfriend’s Mom

Man on PCP Tries to Kick Out Police Car Window

Officers working Anti-Crime encountered James Smith, a 51-year-old Peekskill resident, who was in possession of an open container of alcohol, on Jan. 24 at 8:10 p.m. on the 800 block of South Street, police report. Further investigation revealed Smith was in possession of and under the influence of PCP and in need of medical attention. While being treated by Peekskill EMS, Smith became combative and attempted to assault police and EMS members.
Officers took him into custody after a brief struggle and transported him to Police HQ. While en route, Smith continued to be combative and kicked out the rear window of the police car. Smith was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of government administration, resisting arrest and fourth degree criminal mischief, all misdemeanors. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court

Woman Assaults Boyfriend’s Mom
A 20-year-old Peekskill woman was charged with assault after punching her boyfriend’s mother several times in the head and neck after a verbal dispute. Angela Waterhouse was arrested on Jan. 28 at 7:50 p.m. at Rolling Way for the assault and was was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
Sleepy Hollow Resident Turns Himself in for Assault in Peekskill
On Jan. 26, Trevor Kinsey, a 21-year-old Sleepy Hollow resident, turned himself into Peekskill police headquarters for an assault that occurred on Jan. 15 at 11:30 p.m. on N. Division Street. The victim, an acquaintance of Kinsey, was assaulted after he threw a handful of loose change at Kinsey’s vehicle. The victim sustained a broken nose, and fractured eye socket. Kinsey was charged with second degree assault, a Class D felony, and was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
Arrested for Crack
On Jan. 27 at 4:40 p.m. John Szigethy, a 61-year-old Mohegan Lake resident, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of controlled substance on the 1200 block of Park street. Szigethy was charged after being found in possession of a small quantity of crack cocaine. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
Mt. Kisco Resident Driving Drunk in Peekskill
Officers working Anti-Crime saw Christopher Vonstein, a 30-year-old Mt. Kisco resident, operating his vehicle erratically and nearly strike several parked cars on the 1000 block of Lower South St. in Peekskill on Jan. 27 at 9:40 p.m.. A subsequent investigation revealed Vonstein was operating under the influence of cocaine. Vonstein was additionally charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a small quantity of cocaine was recovered from inside Vonstein’s vehicle. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
Police Catch Man with Four Warrants for his Arrest
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious male trespassing in the Peekskill Plaza Apartment complex on Main Street on Jan. 28 at 9:25 p.m. They encountered a 35-year-old Peekskill man who gave them a false name and then fled on foot. Police chased the suspect and he was apprehended by Sgt. White on the 1000 block of Park Street. The suspect, whose real name is Robert Patterson, was taken into custody after it was learned he had four outstanding warrants for his arrest (2 Petit Larceny, 1 Criminal Mischief, 1 Possession of an Imitation Controlled Substance). Patterson was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court
DWI Arrest
On Jan 30 at 1:30 a.m. Angel Saquipay, 31, of Peekskill, was charged with a felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated on Welcher Avenue by Officer James Knapp.
Saquipay was taken into custody after being involved in a two car accident on Welcher Ave and found to be intoxicated. A subsequent test of his breath revealed his BAC was .19%. It was further learned he had a previous DWI conviction in September of 2009 elevating this DWI to a felony. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court.
