Services for Fred Johannsen; 'My Fair Lady;' Fishing Derby for Kids
Five things you need to know today, May 3.

1. Services for Frederick Johannsen
Frederick Johannsen, owner of the Viking Boat Yard in Verplanck, passed away on April 30, 2012. I had the honor of meeting Johannsen when I visited his boat yard the day before and after the 2011 Hurricane Irene. He was one of the warmest, most welcoming interviews I have ever had, despite the fact that he was dealing with the planning and aftermath of the storm. Our thoughts go out to Johannsen’s friends and family.
Visitation will be held at the Cortlandt Funeral Home Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Fred's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project
