Snow Possible Through Friday in Peekskill/Cortlandt

Wintry weather will be moving into the Peekskill area Wednesday afternoon and could stay around until Friday.

The National Weather Service said rain is likely before 4 p.m., with rain and snow likely fafter. The high will be near 42 degrees, with northeast winds of about 16 mph.

The total daytime snow accumulation is predicted to be less than half an inch.

More snow is expected tonight, with north winds in the 15 to 17 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph. Tonight's snow accumulation is expected to be about 1 to 2 inches.

A winter weather advisory and a hazardous weather outlook is in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday. 

The weather service forecasts more snow before 3 p.m. Thursday, then a chance of rain and snow. The high will be near 37, and winds will continue from the north 18 to 22 mph.

While the daytime snow for Thursday is predicted to be less than 1 inch, up to 3 inches could fall overnight into Friday.
