Soldiers Mobilize for Kuwait Mission, Town/City Meetings, Charles Ruppmann Exhibit

4.      Lakeland BOE Meeting Feb. 2

The Lakeland Central School District Board of Education will hold its next budget work session on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Administration Building, 1086 East Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY.

This will be the second of four budget meetings to be held from January through April. The topics for this meeting are debt service, technology, and employee benefits The Administration Building is located at 1086 East Main Street in Shrub Oak.

The budget meeting is open to the public and discussion is permitted on budget topics.  

The third budget meeting will be held on March 1st. The topics for that meeting are the Instructional, BOCES and Special Education budgets.

5. Peekskill Soldiers Mobilize for Brigade Mission

Approximately 130 Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard's Company B, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment mobilized this weekend for service in support of security operations in Kuwait and other duties the Army requires.

Across New York, 1,800 Soldiers assigned to the 27th Brigade Combat Team mobilized as part of the brigade mission.

The brigade will train for deployment and refine their task organization during post-mobilization training at Camp Shelby, Miss. Members of the brigade are expected to depart for Kuwait in April.
