3. Garden Club Mother’s Day Plant Sale

The Peekskill Garden Club will hold their annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale this Saturday from 9 to 3 p.m. at the Riverfront Green Park showmobile. There wil be a limited pre-sale on Friday, May 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. on the corner of Hudson and Railroad Avenue.

The sale will include popular annuals, such as petunias and geraniums, hanging baskets, sweet potato vine, vegetables, and herbs, from the Bogdanski Nursery. A large selection of perennials, including iris, lilies, japonica, hollyhock and daisies, along with tree peonies, hydrangea and other shrubs will be supplied through Shades of Green. Club members will also sell houseplants, hostas and perennials from their own gardens. Profits from the sale are used towards the expense of civic plantings at the Petals Rose Garden on Central Avenue in Peekskill and civic plantings at the Peekskill Gazebo, The Town of Cortlandt, Buchanan and Verplanck and the cost of awarding an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior.
